Pup Review: Pet Magasin Pet Travel Carrier

Yep, you read that title correctly: My pup Dex is the one doing the reviewing this time!

Okay, so he can't type, but you can tell when your baby doesn't like something based on their reaction to a product, right?

Right.

With that established, let's get to today's review of Pet Magasin's Pet Travel Carrier.

What is it?

As the title says, it's a pet traveler for both cats and dogs (not together, of course) that is airline approved. It has soft padding (including the strap), plenty of ventilation and a sturdy bottom with feet. I love the blue and black design of it, and the fact that it's collapsible so you can store it easily when it's not in use. The back part of the carrier has a pocket so you can store anything little like your pet's favorite treats, toy, or wipes if anything happens while you're traveling. And, if anything does happen on the inside or even the outside, the carrier is made of waterproof material making it easy to clean. Finally, there's a short leash inside to prevent your fur baby from escaping.

Thoughts

I love how sturdy this carrier felt! I haven't had a need for a pet carrier for Dex, but if ever I need one, it'll have to live up to this standard. Every bit of this carrier was made with love, from the feet on the bottom to the short leash inside, and the waterproof material! Sadly, the carrier is too small for Dexter. If only it were 2-3 inches longer! I still give it 5/5 bones because it's a quality product, though.

The smell of Kalahari melons in Georgia | Hask Beauty Shampoo Review, First Wash

So the family is out on vacation this week to Georgia! The last time we ventured down south, we passed through Georgia briefly therefore only catching a glimpse of this beautiful state. This year for our family vacation, we decided at the last minute to venture down to Savannah where the beautiful Gone with the Wind was set. (Although, a four hour movie isn’t an ideal movie to watch, but you have an interlude, right? Haha! Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable are gawgeous together. Same with the set design and costumes! I need to re-watch it…😍)

Since we’re traveling, I was a little weary as to what kind of shampoos and conditioners we would get in our hotel rooms since my hair is colored now as of January this year. Not only that, my scalp is finally feeling somewhat normal since it’s usually dry. I was able to remedy this by using Head n Shoulders consistently the past couple of months. Anyways, when traveling I don’t typically bring my own shampoo and conditioner until this trip since Brandbacker and Hask sent me a sample of Hask’s Kalahari Melon shampoo for color treated hair to review. In the package, they sent me a full size of the shampoo and conditioner, a packet of deep conditioner, a tube of hair oil, and a bristle brush. Just so you know, I started using the hair oil last week and it smells so so soooo good! The shampoo and conditioner is no exception since I tried it last night!

Having said that, last night I took shower at the hotel when we got into Georgia — mind you, not Savannah. I used the wash set and OH MY GAWD it smelled so good! Afterwards, I kept my hair wrapped in a towel for about half an hour to soak up any more moisture before applying the hair oil and letting it air dry to about 75%. Right before bed I tossed my hair up into two buns so I would have some sort of wave action the next day. I removed the buns this morning after dressing and cleaning up and my hair was so soft and smelt so good. I was honestly surprised that it was still soft since whenever I put my hair in buns after letting it air dry and applying x oil or x leave-in conditioner (the x’s are there because I don’t remember what I use — I just kind of grab them, y’know?), my hair comes out oddly textured — almost wiry in feeling.

After using the wash set, I noticed that my hair looks more vibrant in color than it has been the past few months while using Head n Shoulders. Also, when I used it, I noticed that it cleansed my hair and scalp thoroughly. I was skeptical at first since the label said it primarily uses oils. How can oil cleanse? Then again, people use oil as makeup remover so I guess it could work with hair then to remove dirt.

I’m glad I’m given the opportunity to review this set since Hask promises that their products are “free of sulfates, paragons, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors” (HaskBeauty.com). On top of that, they include that Kalahari melon is “known to thrive and retain moisture in the driest conditions.” I guess this is why my hair is so soft! Nashville Vacay day 1: Why are there religious billboards everywhere?

Hello, lovelies!!

In an earlier post (or was it my last one??), I remember mentioning that the gals and I planned a trip to Nashville. Well, we are here right now. We had some lovely adventures on our first day that I will blog to you about. Starting now.

Y'all know when you're heading south when you see billboards about Jesus and your salvation or impending damnation every half mile.

Maybe even less.

Comforting...

What you didn't know is that you would be seeing billboards of the world's largest underground zipline tours every half mile located in Louisville, Kentucky, usually paired with the salvation/damnation signs. TBH moment here: Whitney suggested ziplining during the planning process of our trip, but I was reluctant due to a fear of heights. So, what on earth made me suggest (me, yes, me, the person who was adamant to not do such an activity--my friends don't know that part...yet) we go ziplining in the world's largest underground ziplines? (Thinking back now, I think Whitney suggested it after seeing some of the boards, but no one heard...)

Oh, well, it was probably because of the one million billboards we saw advertising the Louisville Mega Cavern. I don't know why I went along with this or even opened my mouth about it or have any idea as to what happened to the rational part of my brain--even after reading the sign below. Like, who wants to zipline through hell? Okay, maybe not literally (although, can you imagine the lawsuits that would occur if that were the case?), but the setting was enough! RED lights everywhere and a won-der-ful tour guide with a deep demonic-sounding voice.

Welcome to hell...

So why did I not put together that if--if--we did fall, we would be falling 70+ feet to solid rock and not softer dirt were we to go ziplining above ground in trees?

Ugh.

Despite my banter about not being rational about the whole thing, I had an awesome time! No, seriously, I did! The sites were beautiful and breathtaking--in some cases, literally. I definitely had to employ some deep breathing methods on the longer lines. The two suspension bridges we had to cross weren't as bad as I thought. They were the ones, though, that you normally see Indiana Jones crossing--but they weren't as bad as zipping through the air. But, now that I think about it, what would I have done if a plank came loose? Uh...

Let's not think about it. Instead, let's take a look at how happy Whitney and Sarah looked after completing the course!

That's what I thought. ^_~

From Louisville, we drove straight to our chalet--um, well, we detoured at DQ where Nour had the cutest popcorn shrimp I have ever seen, and Whitney and Sarah had the most delicious and chocolate-y blizzards to date. And then we drove straight to the chalet.

Our drive is a story in itself best saved for later...and so it shall be saved...for later.
